Numerous crashes when selecting whole rest and press "6" to turn it into 1/2s

• Jul 5, 2017 - 18:56

871c8ce.

This is the score that also has the header problem mentioned here: https://musescore.org/en/node/230336

After getting the score into the present state, when I go to the first bar in the piano part, select the 1st rest and then press "6" the program crashes.

Any direction?

Thanks for attaching the score.
Weird. The piano part is corrupted (no detected): second and fourth systems display empty measures (0/1)
Do you recall something about how you created your score and other clues for understanding of this?
BTW, delete and re-create parts solves the problem. But preferable to understand what happens.

Linked staves? You can try the effect by entering some notes in the piano part of your score: a note (eg entered in treble clef) is duplicated in real time on the bass clef staff.
And in this case, more surprising, there is 2X2 linked staves. Strange right now.
Apparently, this score has been created with the 2.1. But I would really like you confirm this?

Linked staves are meant for two purposes:

1) so you can have the same content in your score and all parts

2) so you can have the same content in two different staves for guitar, with one in standard notation and the other in tablature

People have come up with other creative uses for this feature, but these are the only two intended use cases. Looks like you must have created linked staves in the piano part accidentally. You can tell they are linked because if you add a note to the top staff, the same note appears in the bottom staff as well. In addition to this, it appears somehow the piano part got double, though - the piano part shows the piano staves twice. That shouldn't be possible.

Anything you can share about how your score got into this state would be useful.

Were there any chord changes in the file you saw?

I swear the file I uploaded had the changes but now all I have is blank scores.

I have rewritten it. No big deal.

At one point I hit "i" and added a 2nd piano intending to copy from one part to the other but never got that far. Perhaps I saved and attached that by mistake.

I think something weird happened at one point when I was adding the changes, I'm not sure.

Sorry I can't be of more help. Thanks for your help.
