Beam breaks

• Jul 11, 2018 - 18:08

Hi - I'm sure the feature exists but cannot locate nor identify. I transcribe chorale music and wish to achieve (e.g.) four consecutive quavers (1/8 notes) to be "beamed" as TWO pairs... (i.e. nOT as a set of four)...

It might also be useful break the same into a set of 3 "beamed" and a singleton...

Please could someone steer me in the right direction? - Thank you.
John

I'm having the same problem. I did go to the instructions linked to (I have it printed out and refer to it often), but there is no icon for "end this beam on this note". I notice it also says "To break a note beam in the Note Groups panel, click on the note following it" and am not sure if it means to click on the first note following the four that are joined together, or on the first one you want unjoined. I know just clicking on it doesn't do anything except highlight it, so I am obviously not getting something in the instructions.
