Mouse click interpreted as two clicks

Symptoms:
Click a notehead -> Enters Edit mode
Click Play - Plays a single note, then stops
Click a menu -> Menu is briefly show, then closed again

Conclusion:
MS interprets a single mouse click as two.

I'm on Windows 10, and don't see this in any other apps.
I can't always reproduce. Not sure if it is related to how long I hold the button down.

Q: Have anyone else experienced this?
Q: Any suggestions how this can be fixed, or explored further?

I've experienced it in the past. After a little while it started being seen in other apps. I changed my mouse and the problem went away.

Edit: When this happens, if I move my finger closer to the middle of the mouse rather than the front of the mouse the double clicks stop.
