Measures
Can someone explain to me please, why is there no feature to set MAXIMUM measure width? There is minimum width limitation but no maximum! No I am stuck with a measure stretched across the entire page and there is no way to decrease the width of it!

if it is the last measure, look at 'last system fill threshold', if not it is probably did do a system break, just remove that. Or add a vertical frame
We could help much better if you'd post your score here (the mscz file)

Thank you Jojo, I mean is there any way of stopping measures from automatic stretching at all? Every time I add a note it will stretch the measure and I will have to manually decrease the width of it EVERY single time... I have uploaded the file...

"Reset Stretch" to get rid of the (enormous) stretch values you applied to these first measures

Thank you, it helped!
The really big lesson to take away here is to not care about layout at all until you've finished entering your notes.

and possibly using continues mode during note entry

That sounds reasonable, as it should save a lot of time, though not comfortable for the eye of the editor in the process...

Comfort is in the eye of the beholder :-). For me. correct spacing is much easier on the eye than incorrect spacing, so I would dislike it greatly is spacing was not continually updated automatically. I think you will eventually find the same - just let MuseScore handle the spacing, you worry about content, and life gets easier. You can then fine-tuning spacing all you want later.
