Muted Notes
So I'm writing this song and in it I mute the Hi E string while playing a chord. I'm just wondering is there a way to write a muted note and if so how?

In Standard staff? So, select the E note and double-click second symbol (cross) in Noteheads palette.
For a Tab Staff: select 0 (for open first string) and use the shortcut: Shift + X.

I just found out to make a muted note
What you have to do is go to palettes and to articulations and press the drop down arrow and find the cross and it should say muted
I hope that helped because I have been trying to figure out how to do it
