Still... some collisions
Hi, gang!!!
I use MuseScore 3.0.5, ver. 58dd23d (not the Portable AppImage), in Ubuntu Studio 18.04.2 LTS (64 bit Linux).
I still get some collisions with some elements (see the images)
Both images was got with the new tool: "Reduce" (menu "Tools"), to join 2 staves into 1.
In the first image (Montaje 1), you can see the quarter rest of the voice 1 is touching and overlapping the whole note of the voice 2 (bass clef).
Also, you can see that the numbers 3 (tuplets) are too close to the lyrics (high clef).
In the second image (Montaje 2), you can see as the two whole notes have some part of its exterior line overlapping each other. I don't know if this visual effect is "by-default", and/or we can fix it with some command I don't know.
Well... The development team will have to check the code... Again!!! (Hi, Hi, Hi).
Blessings and Greetings from Chile!!!

Rests are indeed not participating in autoplacement as far as noptes are concerned. Move them up manually.
Neither do tuplet numbers, this is a know issue IIRC, see for example #280312: Slurs collide with tuplet numbers and brackets

Hi, Jojo!!!
In the "Inspector" panel, rests have the "Automatic Placement" box, like the other elements. To manually move it, we have to untick the box. SO...

No, just move them down (or up). They do participate in r u e skyline algorithm, but they don't avoid notes in other voices.
