As titled with attached violin duet score, test:
Case 1: Set in Synthesiser two soundfonts in the order and both violin Patch as “Violin” from MuseScore_General.sf2:
Save score, close, open it again to get:

More tests show it's indeed NOT saving.

Hope it's not too hard to fix.
Maybe a stupid question but, just to confirm: did you did used the "Save to Score" option in Synthetiser, before saving the score??

i did, it's not a stupid question, but a stu "Save to Score" button, it's confusing with the top menu "Save"! every time it makes me think "do i click this? or that? or both?" REALLYYYYY confusing. Get rid of it.

And "load from score" is also, if it's saved to score, then this time i open it, it's loaded already, why do i click it? I never used it.

just tested 3.1.0.7078, savex2, upon opening, synthesiser Fluid empty, click " load from score" previous selection appeared, mixer patch remained empty unless click on the it. Get rid of these two buttons would be appreciated.

after loaded new a font (with one instrument in the sf2) to fluid, it shew in the patch at once, but NOT sounding unless selected the other one and came back to select this new one.
Save to score saves the syntheizer settings so you can load them from the score later. If you use the same found fonts all the time, this is not a necessary step. Load from score will set up the synthesizer the was it was when you clicked save to score. The Mixer is supposed to remember the sounds assigned to each instrument. There is a bug in version 3.1 and this will not work properly until that bug is fixed in 3.1.1. The programmers have not figured this out yet, but it is a major bug that needs to be fixed before the next release and they know that.
