MIDI Keyboards
I understand that this is not a new topic, but nothing I've read seemed to work. So here we go:
I am connecting a keyboard to my computer via a MIDI/USB adapter. My OS (Windows 7 Home 64bit) recognizes the device. Under Musescore Preferences/IO/Choose PortMidi input interface, I can select the adapter (MMSystem,USB2.0-MIDI).
However, I can't use the keyboard for note input. I have pressed N to go into note mode, but no go. I've tried selecting and deselecting JACK MIDI output and Portaudio, to no effect.
Anyone know what I should do? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Yes, I made sure of that :)
Thanks for responding.
What specifically goes wrong? Do you mean, after entering note entry mode, you select a duration, press a key, and nothing shows up on screen? What model of keyboard?

Yes - no note shows up. Its a Casio LK 100 connected via a MIDI to USB adapter.

Do you hear anything? is the MIDI button pressed, next to the rewind button in the toolbar ?

Yes, the MIDI button is selected. There is no result when a key is pressed on the MIDI keyboard.

Pretty unlikely the same proplem 6 years later and so with an entirely different version of MuseScore?

Funnily enough, I thought I had read all the solutions. Two minutes ago I read to just reverse the midi in/out cables (somewhat counterintuitive) but it seems to work now. Sorry!

Think about it. What goes into the midi keyboard came out of the computer.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I've been reading so many comments and this turned out to be the answer.
