After contacting Customer Service with below questions I was directed here? Can anyone kindly help
I am a yearly subscriber! Can anyone kindly help by answering the below questions?
Many thanks in advance:-
1) How to change colour of text in one go on all relevant text and in all relevant areas and sections (ie Titles, Time Signatures, Chord Symbols, etc), and have it changed at same time on individual parts?
2) I’ve added Electric Guitar & Strings Keyboard to the Score but why aren’t they showing as individual parts?
3) How to change order of instrumentation on score (For example: Bring Electric Guitar & String Keyboard parts up a couple of staves to be directly underneath Piano; And/Or Trumpet part as top line on score, underneath Alto for example?)
4) How to delete the written notes in the Electric Guitar part, but keep the chord symbols?
AND
5) How to add a suggested rhythm to certain bars in the Electric Guitar Part, with repeat as previous bar in following bars? (Renownedly bad readers!) (IE: Not notes as such, but stems with an X on the top, like drum notes)?
Alos, how to add the repeat symbol for repeat previous 2 bars/
6) How to add chord symbols to the bass part without losing the written notes?
7) How to copy and paste the entire chord symbols from say, Piano, to bass and/or string-synth and/or Guitar?
8) How to change and view score in concert rather then transposed?
Comments
1) use the Inspector
2) Generate the parts, File > Parts...
3) Bring ut the Instruments dialog (press I, move the instruments
4) select the notes, press delete?
5) use rhythmic slash notation
6) Just add them, this won't loose written notes
7) Possibly via the Selection filter
8) Toggle "Concert Pitch"

A bit more detail: if you want to easily select every element of a certain type in the score, select the entire scoe then open up the selection filter and check/uncheck what you need.
Even if you already generated parts, you still need to regen when you add a new inst.

Thanks so much for your kind help Jo Jo. Very much appreciated and a big help! I am following your guidelines and tips now and will get back to you with anything I don't quite understand or can't work out... if that's ok with you? Regarding a few things I have already tried:-
1) Thanks for extra advice in your second email this morning ...I will try that later!
2) My initial question was - I’ve added Electric Guitar & Strings Keyboard to the Score but why aren’t they showing as an individual parts?
2) Generate the parts, File > Parts...
(I followed your advice and it worked in that the part appeared in the individual parts bar, but when the part appeared it isn’t named as, say, ELECTRIC GUITAR, rather it’s named as ‘PART”! How do I change the name name in the Parts Bar; and/or have the correct name generated in the first instance?)
3) Your advise worked easily so thank you!
4) Yes of course ... should have been obvious!
5) My initial question was - How to add a suggested rhythm to certain bars in the electric Guitar Part? (IE: Not notes as such, but stems with an X on the top, like drum notes)?
5) use rhythmic slash notation
(What is rhythmic slash notation?)
6) Yes of course ... should have been obvious!
7) My initial question was - How to copy and paste the chord symbols from say, Piano, to bass and/or string-synth and/or Guitar?
7) Possibly via the Selection filter
(What and were is the 'Selection Bar'?
Also, my question was referring to the fact that I had to add the chord symbols, one at time, to each bar, in each part separately in the score! Very time consuming! Is there a way that )
8) My initial question was - How to change and view the score in concert rater then transposed?
8) Toggle "Concert Pitch”
(Not sure what you mean by this?)
Some more questions:-
9) How to add to the tempo instruction at the top left of score & each part - "2 quavers = tied triplet” when in ‘Swing/12/8' feel?
10) How to mute instrument(s) when listening back to full score?
11) When chord symbols are added to each bar, they are alway in black colour! I like them to be in blue, so, after adding the chord symbols, I had to physically change each symbol from black to blue, both in the score and then again in each individual part!... very time consuming! Is there a way that I can make blue always the default standard colour when adding chord symbols to both the score and each part!
Also, when I changed the chord symbol colour from black to blue in the score, why doesn't this automatically generate the same colour change in the individual parts, without having to physically change the colour again in each part? Also vice versa, if I were to first change the chord symbol colour in the individual part rather than the score, why doesn't the same colour change generate in the score?
I would like the same to apply to any text I add such as, for example, 'Rehearsal Mark', which I like to be in red!?
Thanks again Jo Jo
Cheers
Chris

2) File > Parts > Single Part allows you to name it as you like, defaults to Part though, but > All Parts names them as per their partname
5) See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/tools#toggle-rhythmic-slash-notation
7) See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/copy-and-paste#selection-filter
8) See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/concert-pitch
9) See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/tempo
10) See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/mixer
11) Set one of them to blue using the inspector and set that as style (pressing the S button in inspector next to the color picker)
Do yourself a favor and read the entire handbook once, front to back, and later revisit as needed. It is time well invested.
This is not to discourage you from asking here ;-)

Yes, do ask here, but when you do, it will be easier for us to help and easier for you to find our advice if you start a separate thread for each issue. Even with single issues the replies in this forum can get very tangled. Seeing 8 different problems in one post certainly put me off getting involved.

If you want Xs instead of slashes, write notes like normal, select them, then open up the inspector and change "Notehead" to "X".
