Note appearing in both staves
Everytime I use piano notation in Musescore 3 and create a note in one of the stave, it also appears in the other. I want to make separate notes for each stave

Are these linked staves? If so, this would be by design, but also a very unusual usage of linked staves.
We'd need to see the actualy score, a picture leaves us guessing.
Make sure you don't have 'Linked Staves' selected https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/create-new-score#add-staff
Can you attach here the score you are having problems with?
I'm having the same issue, but only with one score after using the same template for others?

Share the score, so we can check and help

I ended up just deleting Piano from the instrument list, then re-added. Works fine now. Must be a glitch somewhere though? Thanks.

Most probably a staff got erroneously added as a linked staff

My guess is you used the "add linked staff" button in the instruments dialog thinking that was the way to add a bass clef staff to a score that currently had only a treble staff. But that's the wrong way to do it, should be just add staff. Linked staves are specifically for what you are seeing here - notes literally linked between staves, like for guitar to have standard and tablature together.
