Filling a bar with slashes
Hi Everyone
I am creating a score for big band and I want to fill a rhythm guitar part with slashes. In the handbook, it tells me to select Edit - Tools and then fill the bar with slashes above which I can put chord symbols. My problem is that I don't have a 'tools' option under my 'Edit' drop down menu. Can anyone advise please. With thanks, Dan

[Tools] is the 11 line of the [Edit] menu, between bars and voices

Hello, thank you very much for taking the time to reply. I am using musescore 2.0 but I do not have a tools option on the Edit menu. The 'Bar' choice passes directly to the 'Voices' choice. I am using a PC rather than a MAC. Do you have any other ideas that can help. Much appreciated. Dan
You need to be using a recent version of MuseScore - 2.0 or later.
On Mac, some menus might be re-arranged to fit the way Mac programs are usually structured; not sure if this is one of the affected menus or not.

FWIW, the difference on OS X is that a few items standard to all applications (things like Quit, About [Application]], Preferences) are pulled together in an extra menu. This is not among the items affected.

Are you possibly still using an early beta version from before 2.0 was released? What does Help > About MuseScore tell you? In any case, there have already been two updates on top of the final MuseScore 2.0, so try upgrading to MuseScore 2.0.2 from https://musescore.org/en/download.
