Hiding Elements
Is there a way in Musescore to COMPLETELY hide rests, notes, articulations, accidentals, etc., but they change the sound during playback?
EXAMPLE: TRIPLE SHARPS
If your note has triple sharps, just put the note with the correct sound in Musescore, then hide it. After that put the note and the triple sharp that was supposed to be there USING THE PALETTE ONLY (hitting Z). It would sound just like the note with the triple sharp AND it looks like the note with the triple sharp.
I don't know if you get me or not...... :)

When I do that, the element (a tempo) just gets grey, not invisible

"Invisible" items means invisible in the printed output. If you don't want to see them on screen untick "show invisible" in the view menu. But then you will not be able to find them if you want to edit them later, so it's best to keep them showing unless you want to do a screen recording, say.
for that particular use, it might be easier to use the Inspector to alter the tuning of the note, so it plays the way you expect without needing to enter two notes. Perhaps enter tas a double sharp, then hide the the double sharp sign and add the triple, and raise the pitch half a step.
For other situations, hding an entire staff might make more sense - go to Edit / Instru, ents to do that.
