I can't reproduce the crash with r4996. The sound stops but the play button is not reset.
Have to be honest - couldn't accurately reproduce in this nightly build (it did crash, but possibly because of #10247: [Trunk] Closing score after playback causes crash).
It did happen to the previous nightly build (4172).
