Toggle dot in note entry mode
Is there a way to add or remove a dot to a note after it's been entered? It was requested in a long feature request thread, and many of the features have been implemented, but I don't know that this one has been.

Leave note entry. Select the notehead and click on the dot in the toolbar to add a dot or remove it.
Adding it will truncate the next note. Removing it will replace the dot duration by a rest.
Or, if you prefer NOT to leave note entry mode:
1) Go back with [Left] arrow key until the blue line is right before the dotted note
2) Select the duration you want (in your example, same duration but without dot)
3) Re-enter the note
The note duration will change. As lasconic said, if the new duration is shorter (dot removed), a rest is created to fill the duration excess; if new duration is longer, the note will overwrite some of the following notes.
