How do I get into Windows Explorer

• Apr 9, 2016 - 18:33

I need to get into my Windows XP to run MuseScore as an administrator. The directions say to select the executable product to run as an administrator. I don't know what an executable product is.
I can't print any music now that I have upgraded to MuseScore 2.02

Go to Start/Accessories/Windows Explorer. Type "%ProgramFiles%\MuseScore 2\bin" into the address bar /withoput the qoutes. Find "MuseScore.exe" (the ".exe" maybe hidden), then follow the procedure you mentioned

Also better upgrade to MuseScore 2.0.3.
From where did you upgrade?

Ah, apparently from 2.0.0, as per https://musescore.org/en/node/75476#comment-458561.

In case you really want to go back to 2.0.0, see https://musescore.org/en/download#Older-versions, although I'm not aware of any change that might cause 2.0.2 (or 2.0.3) to behave differently from 2.0.0 in respect to printing or Windwos XP.

Attached a PDF from the score you wanted to print in https://musescore.org/en/node/75476#comment-458586

Please be aware that Microsoft stopped support for Windows XP quite a while ago and so does MuseScore. It may work (and did when I last tried), but you're on your own and in jeopardy of all kinds of security issues. Better upgrade to Windows 7 or later.

Another option to get PDFs is to upload the score to MuseScore.com, and download a PDF from there, see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/share-scores-online-0, although with Windows XP I'd be extemly careful when connecting it to the Internet...
