Unable to edit "lines" in Mac OS X nightly build

Using R4593 on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (problem exists in previous builds as well).

After adding a line of a type which includes text from the "Lines" palette it is possible to edit the length but not the text part of the line.

Right clicking on the line does not give an option of editing line properties. The only items in the right click menu are:
Cut

Copy

Paste

Select

Edit element

Object inspector
