Tablature rests wrongly displayed when "Note symbols" option is selected
2.0.3 on Win 7/10.
When the tablature options "Show rests" and "Note symbols" is selected (Staff properties > Advanced style properties > Note values … Shown as), rests are displayed as note symbols rather than rests:
Expected result: Rests should be displayed as rests (with the note symbols above the staff?).
By contrast if you select "Show rests" and "Stems and beams" (Staff properties > Advanced style properties > Note values … Shown as), the rests are displayed correctly as rests:

It's not considered as a bug, but by design.
Indeed, eg, if you create a score for lute (Tab), and with an "Italian" staff type , you get this:
This is by conception/design. See explanation by Miwarre in this thread: https://musescore.org/en/node/45081#comment-210656
I quote: "To have rests displayed as mensural symbols above the staff, like symbols for notes, check the "Show Rests" in "Advanced Style Properties", tab "Note values".
These rests are displayed slightly lowered, so they cross the top staff line, as they appeared in many Italian tablatures I have consulted."
Before (two comments higher), I quote always: "The stems-and-beams system is intended for modern tabs, which show rests within the staff, if they show rests at all. To have rests shown by the rhythm flags of historic tabs, the "Note symbols" option should be used, together with the "Show rests" option (without beamed rhythm flags, of course"
So, considering the "Notes symbols" option (with Show rests), is not really intended for Modern Tabs, I propose to close soon this thread (by design).
Closed by design for the reasons explained above.
