Audio problems with the Clarinet (Fluid)

2.0.3 on Win 7/10

There seem to be audio problems with the (FluidR3Mono_GM.sf3) clarinet throughout the range. It is a mixture of a clicking sound on key off, unwanted overtones and distortion. It occurs both during note entry (doesn't matter which method: computer or internal piano or external keyboard) and playback.

See the Soundfonts forum for various discussions of this and attempts to improve the sound. I believe there is an improved version available for download there.

The Clarinet was the first instrument to go on the replacement list due to access to reasonable quality samples from the University of Iowa.

The problems with the clarinet in FluidR3 Mono are all at sample level, hence the decision to replace them.

The replacement instrument exists as a standalone soundfont at the moment, the development of which is still taking place.

Development is chronicled in this thread......

If you scroll to the bottom you will find the download link on Google Drive.

There is still work to do, so keep an eye on that thread.
