Lots of advanced pieces have de/crescendos that are diagonal usually because there is a wide range of notes or if the de/crescendo is supposed to go through all staffs. It's not necessary but it would be nice if this concept were to be added.
This is possible already, select the hairpin, then in Inspector tick the box next to 'allow diagonal', then double click the hairpin and move the handles up/down to your heart's content
