empty bars
Hell
I trying to make empty bars underneath a melody so I can write a melody with a pen. I can get a extra bar but there are always rest writen in a bar. How can I get a truly empty bar?

Found it. Sorry you can make notations invisible.
If you need them to appear handwritten or have other special needs, I guess that could be a reason to write the lyrics in by hand. But for the record, you could also add notes to the measures make them invisible, and attach the lyrics to those. There shouldn't ordinarily be any need to resort to pen.

Huh, somehow I saw the part about wrtiting in with pen below a melody and just assumed she was talking about lyrics, but I see now it does actually say melody. Would be interesting to know what is actually desired; there may well be a better way of doing it, whatever it is.
