Mac keyboard don't have "Ins" key. We need to change the default shortcut for inserting one or more measures.
I suggest Alt + B for one measure and Alt + Shift + B for several.
As a reminder, to add measures at the end we use Cmd + B and Cmd + Shift + B for several.

Still open, 6 years later..:
A good candidate to get included in this years GSoC's project for platform and locale dependant shortcuts
In master, which will become the next major version of MuseScore, the default shortcut on Mac for "Insert Measure" is Shift+I, for "Insert Measures" it is Shift+Del+I, so I guess we can mark this issue fixed.
