Tie and accidental on interface not interactive with score

1. Create score.
2. Enable 'Note Entry'.
3. Enter two crotchets.
4. Disable 'Note Entry'.
5. Select the first crotchet.
6. Tie.
7. Select the second crotchet.
8. Add ♭.
9. Click on either note.

Desired result: Tie and ♭ buttons change in the interface indicating they are being used (similar to Note Entry being enabled) - also amendable via click.
Actual result: No change in the toolbar.

Using MuseScore 1.1 and 2.0 Nightly Build (4865) - Mac 10.6.8.
