Stubborn measure retains different number of beats than other measures!

• Oct 22, 2011 - 18:06

So I was messing about with triplets, deciding whether I wanted to use them in a piece for strings and flutes, and I ultimately ended up deciding against them. Something really weird happened, though, and now this measure won't take more than five eighth-notes/rests. The entire piece is in 3/4. I've tried deleting the measure altogether, setting it as an 'irregular' with three quarter-note beats [like it's supposed to be], purposefully installing a 3/4 time signature ON the measure itself.. and while all the rest of the measures above and below it retain the 3/4, this one still will not take more than five eighth notes! It's like a phantom 5/8 bar appeared out of nowhere, and I can't get it to go away. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? If someone knows what to do, could you please help? Thanks very much!

Sounds like your score got corrupted somehow and I believe similar things had been reported as bug already. I had something like this happening too. Don't remember though how I got out of it again.

It may be good to attach your score here, for the developers to have a look.

All right, thanks! I've taken out the music I wrote first and saved it as a separate file so the bug is still preserved; not like anyone would give a crap about my music enough to steal it xD but I guess I just want to be on the safe side.

You'll see it on p. 3, fourth measure, centre staff [the second violins].

Thank you very much for your help :D

Yeah, I think the triplets might have caused the bug, since similar stuff occasionally happens when I try to use triplets.
