Can Put in Notes to New Composition?
For some reason, whenever I open up a pitched instrument composition page (to test), like Timpani, I can input notes perfectly fine.
But I went here: http://musescore.org/en/node/8223
Did all of the things required, and I cannot input notes on ANYTHING. And then on top of that, the marching snare doesn't have four barlines like it is supposed to.
I cannot input notes on anything else for any other instrument or composition besides Timpani. What do i do? Someone please help me. Thanks.

The key to drum parts is making sure you select the rest before you start note input.
Then press N and choose a drum sound from the palette.
Not being a specialist percussionist I may have this wrong, but there is a Four Line Drumset in the Instrument list.
