Tuplet leads crashes

• Oct 11, 2016 - 17:47

Hello everyone,
I was working on tuplet and MuseScore was always crashing. I tried to found out what was going on and finally discovered that deleted tuplets wasn't replaced by a rest.
See the score below to understand what I mean.
Thanks.

I can confirm the problem. I suspect the original MusicXML file was actually invalid, or at leas,t something went wrong when it was imported - that is kind of an odd notation and we might not handle it as expected. I'm not even sure what the intended interpretation is. Can you post the original MusicXML file?

Hi Marc,
Last week my operating System was Windows 7 Pro and there was no Problem. I worked on nested tuplets, erased all my bars and created this "new" score (from the original) to see how to manage Tremolo tuplets. Everything was ok.
I had a new Computer on Friday and have installed Windows 10. I had to reinstall all the Softwares and downloaded MuseScore 2.0.3 from the Website, the same Version that I used before.
Today while I wanted to carry on with the Tremolo tuplets, the issues began.
I just tried to open my XML file and had a Dialog box warning that my file was not a valid XML music file.
You will find the original XML file attached (only one measure) and the .mscz file from which I sent you an extract.
Hope that will help you. Thanks.

Yes, as I told previously I've erased the content of the bar, and create from the original XML file the "new" score (adding bars and Input notes).
So this morning I created from scratch a new score to test my tuplets and I had to face several crashes. Last one was when I wanted to save as my score.
Please find attached my mscz file and a Screenshot of the last crach.

Can you explain how you created the file in the first place? Specifically, how you created the tremolo tuplet. I was under the impression this was the result of importing an invalid MusicXML file, but it sounds like you are saying you are creating this from scratch within MuseScore?

Yesterday the original file came from an XML Import. I though that my file was corrupted.
So this morning I created a new score from scratch within MuseScore and since I only work on this new one.
The process I use to create a Tremolo tuplet is
Input mode : enter the full Duration note, then press Ctrl + tuplet number, then select the tuplet note and double clicking from the Palettes/Tremolo on the desired Icon.
What bothers me most is that it's not repeatable.
You may see on the last bars of my Screenshot how I proceed.

The score I wrote this morning I tested on 3 different Computers (2 Windows 10 and 1 Windows 7 Pro) and the problem is constant on the 3. The score is attached :Test Tremolo Tuplet.
