In the Linux version multiple soundfonts used at the same time (in one score) does not work.
I can add multiple .sf2 soundfonts to the list but with the 'synthesizer' I can only use the soundfont on top of the list (combined with the standard soundfont). I want to be able to use any soundfont for any part within the same score. That seems to be possible, I've heard, but not in my Linux MuseScore 2.0.2 version.

First upgrade to 2.0.3
Second don't assign issues to yourself, unless you want to provide the fix for them too
Works fine for me with both 2.0.2 and 2.0.3 on Linux. How are you trying to use the soundfont? Have you selected the appropriate sounds in the Mixer? What happens when you do?
In general, it is better to ask for help in the Support forum before reporting assuming a problem represents a bug.
