Is there a way to set the number of measures in a system locally. For instance, I might set up the score to have 4 measures per system, but on one particular system I want to have 6 measures. Is this do-able?
You can make measures take up less space by selecting the measure and pressing "{". "}" makes it take up more space. Also you can tell MuseScore to begin a new line by double clicking the "line break" button in the breaks & spacers palette.
Thanks for the swift reply, but I still don't see how this works.
In my case, the score is set up with 4 measures per system. Let's say I want to have the first six bars grouped together on one system. If I insert a line break after the 6th bar, I end up with 4 bars in the first system and two bars in the 2nd system. I can select bars and use the { or } command, but all that does is change the relative width of the bars in the system, it doesn't change the number of bars in the system.
