Chords

• Dec 12, 2016 - 23:51

I am inserting guitar chords, with a capo on 1. However, each chord is appearing automatically with the original chord in brackets beside the capo chord. e.g. G/D(F#/C#)

Is it possible to remove the bracketed chord?

thanks,
Geoff

OK, I reset the capo postion to 0 and the brackets disappeared.

However, the chords are actually written for capo 1st fret.
How can I show TABS with the capo on 1st fret? At the moment the original key (Bb) is being Tabbed, instead of the CAPO 1 position.

Thanks. I am getting to love MuseScore! Finding my way around it is a steep learning curve, however.

cheers,
Geoff

See Style / General / Chord Symbols and turn off the capo setting - that is it's only purpose.

For the tab, I suspect you'll need to not use linked staves, and simply enter the pitches you want to play instead of the ones you want to hear.

If a staff is hidden, there's no point in trying to link it. Are you thinking you'd want to do this so you can enter the tab in standard notation and have it converted automatically? Just use copy and paste for that. If you mean something else, maybe you explain further, and attach your score so we can help better.
