Is there a quick way to check the dynamic setting of an instrument?
Say you've gone between ff and mp in previous measures for a trumpet, for instance, and am not sure what the loudness is set to at present. Is there a fast way to check? Such as right clicking on a note or measure, as opposed to scrolling back over multiple pages?

I would extract the part to look at it since it easier to find the previous dynamic. If there are none it defaults to mf. It's quick and you can delete the extracted part if you want when you're done.
I would say if you as the composer / arranger are having trouble remembering, so would a musician reading the part, so you might as well just place an explicit new dynamic (even if happens to be the same as whatever the last dynamic was)/

3 Cents: IMHO under certain circumstances every system could have a dynamic marking and it wouldn't be overkill.
