Superimposed custom palette symbol

Has anyone seen this before?

I don't think this is the way it was intended to work.

I think I know what I did. It still shouldn't look like this in the palette.

Here's what I did.

I used the generic text line that starts VII_____ on my score
I changed the font to 14, italic and checked system text.
In the inspector I changed the line to dashed and horizontal offset to 12
I then dragged it to my custom palette and this is what happened.

I was going to ask how to fix it, but I figured that out while I was composing this. Right click the empty cell 12sp below the crashing symbols and clear it.

IMHO 1 of 2 things should have happened.
1. The offset should have NOT been displayed on the palette
2. The cell of the palette should have expanded to allow the entire symbol to be in it.

Thoughts?

I've also seen similar when creating custom dynamics, ornaments, lines etc. and dragging them to the palette - the entry effectively hovers at some distance to its containing cell. Rather than the palette expanding it might be better if the entry shrank to fit the cell and automatically centred within the cell. If things in general were now too small you could then have the option to increase cell sizes.
