1 ti ta beaming

• Apr 8, 2017 - 03:17

I'm new to musescore and I've been trying to make a percussion ensemble cover of Ma Chérie by Palaye Royale. In the beginning, there's a 1-ti-ta rhythm (or 1-e-ah, whatever you use). The closest I can get to having how it's normally written (attached, it is the first rhythm) is writing four sixteenth notes then deleting the te (or and), leaving a sixteenth note in its place. How do I get it beamed correctly?

If you are in 4/4 it should automatically be beaming like that if you are entering a 1/16, 1/8, 1/16 note (per first example). If this isn't happening upload what you have so we can look at it and see what you've done.

Welcome aboard...
Why write four 16th notes? The second note you enter should be an 8th note - so you must change the duration to 8th before entering the note. Then, change duration back to 16th for the third note.

Regards.

To enter that first rhythm, just enter the notes in order exactly as you see them, the beaming happens automatically.

So:

1) enter note input mode
2) select sixteenth duration
3) enter first note
4) select eighth duration
5) enter second note
6) select sixteenth duration
7) enter third note

No other special techniques required.
