Questions about Pinwheel lead sheet example

• Nov 9, 2012 - 21:54

I read Marc's excellent tutorial on lead sheets, and there were a couple of elements in it that I couldn't find explained. Both to do with the start of the Coda:

1. How to get the incoming tie to the initial semi breve? I wanted to do the same for a coda of mine and couldn't find the way.

2. How to put the parentheses around that same note?

Thanks!

Tony

Thanks for the comments!

The incoming tie into the coda was created as a slur (click note, press "S") then manually dragged into position and reshaped (double click, drag handles). I think 2.0 will support this one-sided ties more directly.

The parentheses are in the Symbols palette. Click the note, press "Z", double click the left paren in palette, double click right paren in palette. This adds the parens, but not necessarily positioned well, so zoom in, double click a paren, and nudge it to the right with the arrow (or ctrl-arrow for finer movements).
