Composing in concert pitch -- transposition to written pitch -- playback is in wrong key.

In short,
I wrote a piece for soprano and Bb clarinet with a D major key signature. I wrote the clarinet in concert pitch, setting the "play transposition" feature to perfect unison. I When I was finished, I then tried to transpose the clarinet part to the transposed pitch (key signature of E major). Its appearance is correct, but it plays back now as if the transposed pitch were concert pitch -- i.e., bitonally. How do I make the clarinet part revert in playback to the correct transposition?

That's not how the transposition feature works - you are making it much harder than it is supposed to be. You aren't supposed to mess with the play transposition setting or issue any transpose commands. All you ever need to do is toggle the "concert pitch" button.

When you create a score for Bb clarinet, "play transposition" is automatically set to major second down, and you should not be changed. Instead, simply use the aconcert pitch toggle button at the top left of the screen. When it is turned on, everything is entered and displayed at concert pitch. When it is turned off, everything is automatically transposed correctly. And playback always remains at concert pitch.

As to how to get things correct now that you've entered things incorrectly, I'd start by setting play transposition back to down major second, and turn concert pitch on. If things are not in the correct key, then transpose them (using Notes->Transpose) to get them where they should be.

From then on, don't touch "play transposition" or Notes->Transpose again. Just toggle the Concert Pitch button and everything will work automatically.
