Note alignment
Hello, This is my first time using musescore. I have made a 12 bar Conga score. I have two bars on each line. Since repeated patterns are used on each line (crotchet, crotchet, quaver, quaver, crotchet) I would like each beat to appear aligned on the score. At the moment the beats are spaced differently on each line of my score even though they are the same rhythm pattern.
I have solved the problem by using (double click note, shift - arrow key) to nudge the note into place. However this is timeconsuming (and I plan on doing many more scores like this). Is there any other way to align beats of different lines when using a single voiced instrument?

Could you post an example of what you mean? MuseScore follows standard typographical practice - notes within a with regard to note spacing, but provides a number of ways of creating non-standard spacing if you prefer.
If you literally have the same pattern on both lines and they are not aligned, that would presumably be because the time signature is taking up room on the first staff but not subsequent ones. Or there might be an indent on the first staff but not others. You should be able to adjust these, but without seeing you score, it's impossible to advise more precisely.

Hi Marc, I'm not actually sure of how to post an example yet, would you mind letting me know how? But yes, part of the problem must be because of the timesignature on the first line. However the barlines on line 3 and 4 are also in different places (the rhythms are actually slightly varied, but all either crotchet, quaver, crotchet rest). With thanks

Hi Peta -
When you are writing a note or response to the forums, there is a bunch of formatting information below the window you type into. Below that is a section called "File attachments". (You may need to click on that to open it up, depending on your browser.) There, you should see "Attach new file". Click on the "Browse..." button, which will help you look on your own computer for the location of the file. When you're done, click on "Open" to upload the file to the forum.

Is the time signature (which appears only in the first system) causing the offset? If so then you can try placing a similar-sized object in front of the first note of the next line. In the attached file I have placed a natural sign in front of the first note and enclosed the sign in brackets (both from the Accidentals palette). I then made those objects invisible. You could also just add a time signature to the next line and then make it invisible, too.

Your you could get rid of the initial time sig, by a mean little trick:
insert a new measure befor the first (select 1st measure, hit "Ins"), then delete it again (hit "Ctrl-Del")...
