32 th notes and dotted 1/8th notes

• Feb 10, 2013 - 22:18

Hi there,

I attached a screenshot which shows my challenge today:-).

If I have a dotted eight note like you see on the screenshot....I learned that there should follow a 16th note after it - right?
How can I accomplish that in musescore?

Thanks in advance!!
K.

Sixteenth notes are entered just like any other type of note: first select the duration (either by clicking the sixteenth note icon or by typing the shortcut, 3) then enter the pitch (either by clicking in the staff or by typng the letter name).

Alternatively, if you have lots of them you can just enter them all as eighth notes and then click on the first eighth note and press . to make it dotted (extended by half) which causes the following eighth note to be shortened to a sixteenth. You can then quickly use the arrow keys to move along from note to note and press . when you reach the ones to be dotted. Press [Ctrl]-z if you make a mistake and it will undo the last action.
