Where does the file come from? Can you attach it so we can investigate the crash? (See File attachments in the comment form)

from musescore - St Louis Blues by Oliver Lenoir. I subsequently downloaded it in Musescore format and it downloaded ok

And yes the MusicXML crashes MuseScore 1.2 because of an empty credit text. It will be fixed in 1.3 and 2.0.

Is there a version 1.3 planned? I thought MuseScore was going to jump to 2.0.
