Promote OpenScore's Kickstarter More on Musescore.org

• May 31, 2017 - 03:49

To us it may concern,
With only 30 days left, and under 4,000 raised of the €45,000 target, the OpenScore Kickstarter campaign needs to be more prominently featured on www.musescore.org, for example, on the home page. I wonder if Kickstarter has a website widget to display updates of pledges, such as a classic thermometer graphic, in real-time?

It seems to me that it is unlikely that the €45,000 target will be met unless more active promotion is given to OpenScore's kickstarter drive.

My two cents (which I'm donating to Openscore),
Sam

As mentioned in another post: It seems to be only possibly to contribute this project via credit card. So it's for me (and maybe certain others too) not possible to support this project. I don't, if kickstarter offers also other form of payments, but it would be nice to have other possibilities above.

(I'm aware, it doesn't really match to the title this forum topic, but I didn't just know a better place for this comment ;-)

Yes, maybe there will be enough contributors, who are owners of a credit card.

But my personal experiences with crowd-funding campaigns are, that there is in the first days after start is a big resonance and after a time it declines. So keep it in mind, if you've the feeling, the target will not reached.

An other thing, I remember, we had before the release of MuseScore 2.0, to collect online ressources in a table (in this case online music magazines or similar), where it could be useful to inform about it and share this campaign.

I forgot about checking www.musescore.com . Good to see the kickstarter campaign up front on that website. How about adding the same kickstarter widget on this site as well--for example, underneath "Languages" on the right side of the homepage?

Also, I didn't realize that 4,000 was raised all in the first one day -- kudos!

Promoting the campaign on other sites besides musescore's two sites is a good idea Kuwitt
BTW, doesn't Kickstarter have a paypal option?

The Tchaikovsky piece was the first piece we transcribed and we learned lots of really valuable lessons from it. We gave out the PRO rewards as promised and we really appreciate the work you put in, but the piece is not ready to be made public just yet.

We're almost there! With just 50 some hours left, The OpenScore Kickstarter is 97% funded.
It's an all or nothing campaign, which means that if it is not fully funded, all the pledges evaporate. The suspense...
