Modify chord name display

• Jun 24, 2013 - 13:02

After having researched this in the forums, I am still needing help.

I am using MuseScore v1.3 on Windows XP sp3.

I need to be able to have chord names displayed in their French/Italian form.
C = Do
D = Ré
E = Mi
F = Fa
G = Sol
A = La
B = Si

I am aware that I am requesting help for a cosmetic change - meaning I am aware that I will still need to enter the chord in it's english form for it to be recognised and parsed correctly by MuseScore.

What I do not know is which style xml file needs to be modified (and where) so as to obtain the required output.

Has anyone done this with success ?
Are you willing to share the steps taken ?

BTW, I assume that link is referring to the workaround of adding "sym" declarations to the chord description files to re-define the letters A-G to render using the glyphs we added to MuseJazz for Do, Re, Mi, etc. Hopefully that suffices for now

But as for the future, see this recent discussion:

I just committed the changes to add native support for this naming last night. Hopefully at some point soon this will appear in a nightly build of 2.0 so people can try it out and give feedback.

Thank you Shoichi and Marc,
I have tried the supplied files and it works as expected.
I have also added my little contribution to the discussion you initiated Marc. Hope it helps.
