How do I play different length notes at the same time?

I want to set it so it plays that bottom note as a whole note, not two half-notes. Is this even possible?

Also, please don't use the issue tracker to ask questions. Use the forums instead. The issue tracker is for reporting bugs, and even then, only bugs in the development builds for the upcoming next release.
