PDF file cut off in Miceosoft Office e-mail

• Jul 10, 2017 - 17:20

Can anyone telll me why this PDF file of Ode gets slightly cutoff at the very top (only about 1/2 of the letters of the title ode to the rockies).i canno t send this to the Conductor, it looks unprofessionaL.This happens when I attach the file to my professional e mail on microsoft office Mail.( I use my domain name mail to correspond with professionals:: deltonlorenzohudsonstar.com)

To experiment, I attached the same file to my personal e-mail: thuban2@gmail.com and the full PDF file works fine! Displays the file perfectly when opened. I hesitate to send this to the conductor, though, as I know some of them might be leary of a public e-mail address.

Although he knows me and might accept it, but i need to know what is going on e-mailing PDF score files.
Thanks!P.S. i tried to copy and paste my .com M Mail e-mail i was going to send, but it did not work. The M mail also cuts off the title on the FUll Score version also.

Not sure what program you are using to view the PDF, but it looks fine to me on Chrome in Windows 10. That is, the title "ODE TO THE ROCKIES" appears in its entirely, with about 1/2" of margin above it. So if you are seeing otherwise, the problem is presumably with the program you are using to view the file, not with the file itself.

OK, i will look into that. I think it was Adobe Reader. I was concerned, since I will be needing to submit so many PDF files eventually ! I might try it on Chrome in my Smart phone.
My domain thing and Microsoft Mail is on godaddy .com Don't know how they send e mails. Seems ironic that it worked on my free gmail, but not in the one I have to pay for yearly.

it should be standard. i had it set to 11X17 inches. I think you told me that was a prettystandard size? I will tell the conductor it can be some other size if he want. The scaling seems a tiny bit too small maybe for parts, but maybe the players have good eyesight. Aldo, I guess I will just have to hope that whoever opens my files will open them with something where they look right! (Not cur off, et.) maykbe it was some program that thought my score was a little too big.

It's standard enough for print, but again, it's possible some individual PDF displaying program can;'t deal with it well for whatever reason, or perhaps your settings in that program are preventing it from working (like if the program is set to force-fit everything into 8.5x11).

Hmm, maybe I will check on settings in Adobe Reader, etc.

At this point I would like to summarize if I have this right, between yours and Jo-JJo's replies--Best way to submit scores is:short e-mail and send a PDF file of the score, and save the score online, MS.com, and a link to that so they can see/hear the playback. (Rather than sending sound files a lot to go with the PDF.)
I'm not sure that I even understand what persons can do with MS.com when they go on it to see/hear something--I thought anyone, even if they do not have MS downloaded, could hear/see a score on MS.com--that it would display and play for them. Is that correct?
