If I closed a score without saving, can I restore what I had?

After finishing a piece of music, I closed the document. When I reopened it, I realized I must have forgot to save it because my latest progress wasn't there. I'm wondering if there is a way to restore the file to what I had before I closed the file.

Another possibility - if there was a crash at some point while editing the score and then you chose to restore previous session when prompted on the next startup, the file you are editing is actually just a copy of the original. So you'd need to find that copy. Depending on what OS you are on and how you started MuseScore and whether you used Save or Save As when saving that copy, it could be in any number of different places on your system. So do a full search of your hard drive for *.mscz files. Also, if on Windows, check the Virtual Store (Google search on that term to learn how to locate it for your particular version of Windows).
