Rhythm notation patterns for guitar or as cues on fake sheets---How to create
I've in fake book form a popular piece for flute and need to include guitar rhythm patterns above the same staff. The hand book doesn't include this and I can't find it in the forum. I'm not a programmer. Would appreciate any help from your subscribers. thanks Salvatore

Not sure why in 'technology preview' but maybe http://musescore.org/en/node/9853 helps. esp. the part about slash notation, (along with the corresponding plugin)

Actually, your link goes to the older version :-). Lasconic's got the right one, although for some reason, on my browser it doesn't seem to take me directly to the part about slash notation even though the URL seems correct for that to work.
Anyhow, the plugin is simply automating a process that could be done by hand as well. It's just a matter of combining some existing facilities: using multiple voices to put notes above the staff, using note properties to change size and notehead, also marking the notes silent or nearly so by setting velocity to 1. For ordinary (non-rhythmic) slash notation, you'd also mark the notes stemless in that same dialog.
But the plugin works well to automate all this, saving quite a bit of time & effort.

a) My original lead sheet tutorial was written using MuseScore 1.0, and quite a few things have changed (for the better) between versions 1.0 and 1.1. So I have completely rewritten the tutorial to take advantage of the enhanced capabilities of MuseScore 1.1. I am leaving the 1.0 version in place, however, for the benefit of people who for whatever reason are unable to upgrade. Sections in italics are sections that no longer apply to version 1.1 and later.
