I can try to find the sforzando on the palette, but it doesn't work on playback. Anyone help me find out how to make this work on playback? I bet someone could do it.

the sf and sfz dynamic markings currently do nothing in Musescore. If you change the velocity it will stay in effect until the next dynamic change. If you want a single note affected then use the sforzato mark ">". This will only affect a single note by causing the dynamic for that entire note to be 30% louder by default. When I say entire note, if you tie several measures of whole notes together, they will all have that modified dynamic. Dynamic changes in the middle of a note are not currently supported. I mentioned that the 30% is by default. It is coded into the score and could be changed if you knew what you were doing.

I added an fff marking on the sfortzando note and the original dynamic on the next. By making both of these invisible and adding a trivial sfortzando marking you can achieve the same effect.

You can change the velocity on the sf or sfz dynamic and place the original dynamic on the next note, making it invisible. This puts a single dynamic on the accented note. I should have mentioned that in my previous post.
