Wrong Time Signature on Midi Import
I recently downloaded a midi from a website that was in 6/8. When I opened it up in Musescore 2, it read it in 4/4, which created ugly looking measures with a lot of triplets. However, when I go to change it into 6/8, it gives me an error, saying that a tuplet would cross a barline. Is there anything I can do about this?

First, are you sure this MIDI file was created in 6/8? If the time signature is encoded in the MIDI file, MuseScore should see it, so I'm guessing this one doens't have that info.
Anyhow, there is no automatic way to convert a piece from 4/4 to 6/8. Simply changing the time signature won't do what you want, I'm afraid. Quarter notes remain quarter notes, eighths remain eighths, so a full measure of 4/4 - which equals 8 eighths - will turn into one measure of 6/8 plus two eighth notes worth of the next measure, and indeed triplets will end up crossing the barline. If you want it in 6/8 time, then create as custom time signature that is actually 3/4, but displays as 6/8. You can also change the beaming for normal 6/8 (groups of 3) rather than 3/4 (groups of 2).
I used Rosegarden to open the MIDI file and it says 4/4. It's possible to change this to 6/8, export it as a MusicXML and then import it into MuseScore but the result isn't pretty.

Yes. I was trying to find a cover that as close to the original ost as possible. I'm arranging the ost for a percussion ensemble and I've found that while they are good for melodies and some bass, many of the covers online lack some of the depth that the original ones had. Short of tearing apart the original piece, I found people who had already done that and allowed their work to be open source. Thanks for the suggestion though.
