2.1 Playback Audio Problem

I have always used MuseScore 2.1 on my Mac and I never had problems until two weeks ago when the audio stopped working. I can hear the metronome, but when I playback my score to music is not heard. I got it to work once by doing the terminal, but once I closed out of Musescore and later tried to use it the audio did not work again. I really need help ASAP.
