Cursor jumping to next page

• Oct 28, 2017 - 07:56

Is there a way to change the movement of the cursor so that when I get to the last measure in one page, the cursor doesn't jump to the next page each time I place a note in the measure? I'm adding multiple notes and accidentals, and it is so annoying to have to stop and go back to the previous location with every single additional note I add.

Note, though, that you don't actually have to move the cursor back at all if you don't - the keybaord commands for building chords, adding accidentals, etc all work normally even if the cursor has moved to the next measure. But sure, continuous view is also helpful.

Thank you both for your input. I really do appreciate it. I don't like working in continuous view at all, so if that's the fix, I'll just deal with it. Lol! But the other suggestion - Well, maybe I just don't understand it. Say I have one beat left in the last measure on the bottom of pg. 3, so I put in a quarter note. The 'cursor-blue box' jumps to the top measure of the next page, but I still have more quarter notes to add to the one I already placed. With each one, it jumps to the next page, and if I don't go back, it places the note in the new measure. Maybe there's a better way to go back. I always have to go out of note-writing mode and move the page over, place the cursor where I want it, and go back to note-writing mode. (But then I put in another quarter note, and it jumps up to the next page again!)

GOT IT! All I needed to do was press the back arrow... duh!! Sometimes things are just too easy! Thanks again for the input.

Another possibility is the hold the shift key while you scroll. You can stop it with both measures on the screen. This only works when the entire page is filled with instruments though. You won't see the last note without some up and down scrolling writing for something like the piano.
