Timpani
I'm using Fonatina soundfont.
I have Timpani for my composition, but it does not go below C2, although I know it can go doen to C3!
I tried Timpani both from Common Instruments as well as Orchestral Instruments, and it does not work...
I attach a sample (upper staff is Common; lower staff is Orchestral).
In the Mixer, I choose Timpani, of course.

Which sound font are you using? With the default it plays an octave below what you have written. When I opened your score the mixer was set to violin for some reason.
I am guessing that they didn't take roots and splits in the samples below c2. (written notes entered one and two octaves below sound c2 but no sounds in between)
Load the Virtual Playing Orchestra sfz, select Tympani and your notes all play. You can hunt down VPO link by searching herein the soundfont forum and/or around the web.

Thank you, ramblinij. I used the Sonatina soundfont. How good is VPO? I need a lot of Percussion instruments for large symphonic orchestara.
