How do I add a flat to a chord symbol
I'm trying to add an E Flat chord above a measure but I can't figure out how to add the flat symbol. It's an E Flat/F bass so all I can add is E/F. Please help.

in Chord entry mode (Ctrl+K) :
simply enter "b" for flat
Eb/F (then: press spacebar or TAB key, or click any blank area on screen)
a small b automatically changes to a flat sign when in the proper place in the chord. (MuseScrore knows the difference between a b chord and a chord with a b in it).

Thanks Mike. That's so easy but I didn't see it anywhere in the tutorials. I tried the # sign and that works for adding a sharp. Once my lead sheet is finished can I easily transpose the song to a different key?

Chords transpose with the notes when you copy to transposing instruments. I'm not sure how the Notes->Transpose menu works, but I would expect it to.

The first place to look for information about MuseScore is the Handbook (see Help menu within MuseScore, or Support menu above). Under "Chord symbols" it tells you how to enter flats, sharps, diminished, half-diminished, augmented, and various other symbols. Mostly, it's using the most similar key on your keyboard.
