Rests with beams
Hello,
I have been using musescore for sometime however I can not figure out how to put notes and rests in a beam in some occasions. I am writing a melody with 9/8 time signature and I'd like to group the notes in threes. When I try to put beam over 2 notes with a rest between them it is easy. However Then there are two rests with a quarter note in between the beam does not seem to work. Is there a way to do it?

But quarter notes don't have beams or flags. Maybe you want voices? See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/voices.
If this still isn't it, can you how a picture of what you want, and a score with your attempt?

Thanks a lot for your reply. I had figured out how to use a beam that way.
However my real issue with beams is that I cannot use beams with a group of 8th rest - 8th note - 8th rest with this order. The beams do not function or I am doings something wrong.

Put the beam start on the first rest, and beam middle on the note and other rest.
