No sound for many in 2.2.1
I think it's interesting there was not a decision to make an intermediate release to fix the problem with sound in 2.2.1 when the user had set a different default sound font in a previous version. Playback is one of the items most complained about in the forums and many users are left trying to figure out how to make 2.2.1 play back after upgrade.

That fix from #270996: No sound on upgrade to 2.2 if default soundfont was saved as default hasn't even yet made it into the 2.3 branch
Edit: wrong, sorry, it is in the 2.3 branch already.
Edit 2: this indeed comes up time and time again, frequency seems to be raising, and most probably even more once the update notification gets enabled.
